Etsy Store Brand Imagery for Lucky Duck Tech

I recently worked with a client in the tech ecommerce sector called Lucky Duck Tech.

Lucky Duck Tech make video and audio products for professionals or individuals that have a home office.

This project was another step aside from their website, where I worked with the entrepreneur to take their look and feel to the next level.

The owner of the business wasn’t happy with how the Etsy store was being received and felt that refreshing the imagery and trying to better communicate the brand through the imagery would help engagement and ultimately, drive more sales.

The owner wanted to communicate the concept of their products making peoples’ video calls easier and more comfortable with a range of products that would help them feel at ease in their working from home setup. Products like the invisible webcam mount which sits on your screen and allows your webcam to be eye-level without distracting you from your call.

The project involved several steps:

  1. Writing a brief to ensure all the correct products were to be photographed correctly.
  2. Selecting the best and most appropriate photography from the set and editing.
  3. Working on any messaging and graphics that would be featured on the slides.

There were several different products to photography in a couple of different settings:

  1. In a natural looking work from home setting
  2. Closeups on a plain background to show product specifics

After deciding on a consistent lighting balances, props and angles, I then took a few sample photographs that were shared with client to gauge the direction of the full set of photography.

The Etsy store had some specific guidelines that I had to bear in mind when photographing the imagery.

After the full set of images was photographed – it was then a case of selecting the best ones for  the client, and finding a consistent template in line with Etsy’s guidelines of how we could include messaging over the images.

The slides for the Etsy store had to be short and to the point, and also look like part of  a consistent set.

After launching the Etsy store with the improved look and feel the clients sales have exceeded the previous year. Furthermore, their organic traffic and engagement overall to the website has increased.

The value proposition was altered to be more appealing to their specific demographic, and really get across the emotive benefits that their products would help address.
