I’ve recently worked with a USA-based tech company, Lucky Duck Tech on a website redesign to increase sales of their products.
Lucky Duck Tech are a fairly new company who manufacture tech products and solutions for people with a home office.
Aiming to improve their call experiences with audio and video products, the owner wanted to improve the overall brand look and feel of the website to ultimately help increase sales and brand visibility.
Goals of the project were to:
- Keep the website redesign created in WordPress.
- Keep the same theme, but just make customizations to it.
- Simplify the look and feel, and create a visual look and feel that will help users along in the purchase cycle.
- Provide some training for the website afterwards.
I started the project by analyzing the particular WordPress theme that the client was using, to confirm what changes could be made directly in the theme, and which changes would need more bespoke coding.
As the client had a WooCommerce store in place, it was also important to analyze how this was set up, as I wanted to ensure the store would be left unchanged after the redesign.
The next stage was the visual look and feel, working on the brand identity we’d already developed – I then developed a simple, stripped-back version of the site that would be mostly easy to achieve with the in-theme editor. Looking at custom request for the client that would be achieved with third party plugins or custom coding with confirmation of the client.
As the client hadn’t used WordPress before, I also held a training session with them to show them around the new site, and provide guidance on how to change certain elements should they need to in the future.
The clients’ sales and online visibility is showing improvements in engagement from the launch of the new site and I’ll continue to look forward to helping Lucky Duck Tech develop.
